Coming from a life of running around my mothers Bridal Salon to watching her now design, re-design and create couture for Anne Gregory in Pittsburgh PA, I sit and watch the clients come in for their first go ahead in the Salon. As their eyes light up from the silks, satins, the beading and intricate lace, it seems that they are in a fantasy princess world. They enjoy the attention, the passion of the Salon owners and then my mother whom is a perfectionist at fitting. I feel that having a service online is not going to be precise in measurements. As I know that designers re-fit their gowns how they see fit for the body, not every customers bodies fit "the image of a designer" Most clients come back for up to 3 times as most brides loose weight during there duration to the alter. It's just a consideration I would make with choosing this online service rather than heading to a private Salon for a one-on-one consultation. If Net-A-Porter had a fitting location in each city to have precise measurements and samples of gowns then it may work. However I foresee many alterations taking place in the near future or even many dresses getting re-cut or scrapped. In my opinion....
