SC: What would you title your memoir?

DJ: I really can't answer that question - there is so much more I hope to come.

SC: Do you have a signature recipe? If so, can you share it with us?

DJ: I make a killer Goulash, but my mom will kill me if I disclosed her recipe!

SC: Where is your next travel destination?

DJ: Berlin, visiting friends this summer.

SC: What books are you reading now?

DJ: Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates and No one belongs here more than you. Short stories by Miranda July.

SC: iPhone or Blackberry?

DJ: Blackberry.

SC: Favorite flower?

DJ: White roses.

SC: Do you have a signature scent? What is it?

DJ: Tuberose Criminelle by Serge Lutens.

SC: What inspires you?

DJ: Art books, travel, photography, movies, random people on the street, my family.

SC: What's the best advice you've ever received?

DJ: Quit your job, move to NY and go for it!

SC: If you could time travel to any period, which would it be?

DJ: Probably the early 1970's.

SC: What exciting plans do you have for the future?

DJ: Its such a cliché, but I just want to travel, travel, travel, not for work, but for pleasure - there are so many places I have yet to see...

SC: Where is your favorite downtown destination?

DJ: Freemans.

SC: Where is your favorite place to grab a drink/what is your signature cocktail?

DJ: Angel's Share in the East Village has the best cocktails! I love the French 75.

SC: Who is your favorite photographer, and why?

DJ: Both Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, they were so pivotal in the way they portrayed women and sex and had such incredible ideas. You can't look at any current photography without seeing their influence.

SC: What is your dream piece of artwork to own?

DJ: I'd love to own one of Marc Quinn's "Sphinx" sculptures- "Fortuna" is my favorite, the "Skull with Candle" painting by Gerhard Richter, or any of Richard Prince's Harley or Marlboro Man photographs.

SC: If you were to lead a walking tour of New York, what neighborhood would you choose and what would the tour be called?

DJ: Probably Williamsburg and the tour would be called "How Many Hipsters 'til you OD Tour" :-)

SC: What was the first CD you bought?

DJ: I can't remember my first CD, but the first record I bought was Stevie Nicks "Bella Donna"- I still think its one of the most beautiful covers ever.

SC: What was the last song you listened to?

DJ: Crystal Stilts – "Departure."

SC: What one brand best represents your style?

DJ: Probably a toss-up between Ann Demeulemeester and Isabel Marant.

SC: Which magazine best represents your style?

DJ: French Vogue

SC: Who is a dream client/editor to work with?

DJ: My dream editor would be Carine Roitfeld of French Vogue. My dream client would probably be David Lynch. I'm a huge fan of his films.

SC: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

DJ: I would love to try my hand at costume design for a movie, I love the idea of working on a project that stays relevant, as magazine editorials can be so fleeting. My friends always tell me I should open a store where I could curate and sell all things I love - furniture, vintage clothes, objects I make, and finds from my travels...maybe it'll happen after the recession!

SC: What must-have items do you think should be in every woman's closet?

DJ: A fitted blazer, flat leather boots, slouchy T-shirts, and jeans.

SC: What one item do you find yourself wearing over and over again?

DJ: My double-breasted blazer from "The Row." The fit is so perfect and it looks great with every item in my wardrobe.

SC: When did you know you wanted to be a stylist?

DJ: While I was working as an assistant at German Vogue, the art director suggested I should try styling, because he liked my personal style. It really started from there.

SC: What was your first gig?

DJ: It was a trip to Mauritius - I had to dress 20 models that were the finalists in a German modeling competition. And I had no assistant, which is crazy in retrospect!

SC: What is your favorite shopping destination, worldwide?

DJ: LA. I love the Rosebowl/Fairfax flea markets and stores like Catwalk and Maxfield, but also all the random shops that sell vintage clothes and furniture.

SC: What are you willing to spend more on, art or clothing?

DJ: Art
