Last Thursday, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Fifth Annual Notable Occasion presented exclusively for the Notables, Carnegie Hall's membership program for music lovers in their 20s and 30s. Hosted by Nicola Bulgari, Vice-Chairman of Bulgari, the evening featured a stunning, intimate concert in Zankel Hall including works by Haydn and Shostakovich performed by members of Ensemble ACJW, the performance wing of The Academy. The performance, done in two parts, was beautiful, making my heart race at moments--always the sign of a special and moving work of art.
Following the concert, was a reception at Remi Restaurant where guests including Carrie Cloud, Annabel Vartanian, Kristian Laliberte, and Stephanie Goto mingled under the night sky in a gorgeous, open-air space.
In a week filled with upwards of a dozen events, the Notable Occasion was the clear standout.
