I felt the first snap of fall cold last night and didn't hesitate to throw on one of my favorite furs by APC. That said, I just wasn't in the mood to play dress-up for the round of events, so I went with an oversized striped boyfriend sweater (worn as a dress over Siwy cutoff denim shorts from the summer), threw on some heels, and called it a night. I don't think it was particularly offensive, proving that sometimes uber-casual is perfectly fine, even at night. On the roster? I felt the first snap of fall cold last night and didn't hesitate to throw on one of my favorite furs by APC. I had a pretty full roster of events to attend last night, half of which I missed due to the fact that everyone seems to plan their parties to occur from 6-8 pm or from 7-10 pm. The two that I did make it to, though, were great. Just what I needed to take the edge off after a long post-fashion-week week. First stop? It's true: everyone always has their fair share of complaints about New York Fashion Week. The packed schedule, the disparate show venues, the endless parties, aching feet, lack of cabs, etc, etc. But in the end, I somehow find myself looking back on the ten hazy crazy days and thinking, "That was actually kind of fun." It's like being at a really chic summer camp where flutes of champagne come in place of marshmallows, and sleep is not allowed. The StyleCaster team headed out east for the second group outing this summer to host a tent at the Bridgehampton Polo followed by a lovely cocktail party at the sprawling, gorgeously revamped Montauk Yacht Club co-hosted by one our favorite designers, Brian Reyes. Joining us for the day/night were friends Kelly Bensimon, Bettina Prentice, Scott Buccheit, and Hedi Ferjani amongst others. As we nibbled on the Yacht Club's delicious hors d'oeuvres (I'm begging for their tomato bruschetta recipe--hopefully to follow in our new Food for Thought column soon) and sipped drinks by my favorite boutique ...
