Seems that bold blue eyeshadow, a once-tawdry strip club staple, is set to make a more upscale comeback. Our favorite mannequin, Agyness Deyn was spotted wearing a defined, decidedly opaque streak of royal blue shadow across her lids, drawing them up into points for an uber-exaggerated cat's eye. And now, looking at the gorgeously painted faces of the models who walked Valentino's couture show in Paris a day ago makes me want to run out and buy a stick of blue something. Proving once again why it's my favorite network (as if the genius of The City wasn't proof enough), MTV networks is bringing back old 90s classic, House of Style. Um. Can we say, "excited??!" I lived for this show once upon a time when Cindy Crawford played telegenic supermodel host and people like Todd Oldham would come on as guests to give us decorating tips. Word has it that MTV has contracts out to Bar Rafaeli (Leonardo DiCaprio's model girlfriend) and Chanel Iman to host this modern version of the classic. Reports are that neither has officially committed yet, but here's to hoping that bo ...

Maira Kalman, artists of many talents, has resumed her post as the New York Times’ monthly “visual columnist.” Kalman, a celebrated illustrator, author and designer, penned (brushed?) a hugely popular column called "The Principles of Uncertainty," which inspired countless reveries, smiles, peaceful moments and comments from May 2006 to April 2007, when Kalman went on hiatus. The new column is called "And the Pursuit of Happiness." Kalman covered the Couture shows in Paris for the New York Times in 2000. The multitalented Kalman is well known for her New Yorker cover illustra ...
