As a teen growing up on the beaches of Long Island, it was a summer ritual to slather my skin in butter and lie on a body-sized tear of tin foil. Yes, you read that right--butter. Even writing the sentence gives me a heat rash. I am lucky to be blessed with the olive oil infused skin of a Mediterranean genealogy, but I most definitely did not escape my youthful summers of baking in the sun. So now, in my early 30s, it is important for me to find an effective face product that combats the aging that is inevitably happening (and I'm sure a bit forced by my bad bake mistakes). One of our favorite runway hotties, Karlie Kloss, gets downright dirty (literally) in Trash Couture photographed by Rafael Stahelin, an editorial shoot for Vogue Korea. The elements of couture mixed with street grunge set a new tone that's interestingly amusing and fun to look at. Kloss is featured wearing Armani Prive and Chanel Haute Couture (how appropriate, right?) with long two-toned colored wavy locks that will mark a new trend among hipsters starting any day now... Gucci won us over when they gave us access to Mark Ronson 24/7 in the form of their iPhone app. The app, Gucci Beats, was only part of their larger campaign with Ronson, however. The all-star DJ collaborated with Gucci on a line of sneakers, which were first unveiled at a pop-up shop on Crosby Street in Manhattan. But, as many of the stylish set are doing at the moment, Gucci is looking south to Miami for the annual design fair, Art Basel. Swatch has been making a big push lately to regain their immense popularity of the ‘80s, but as with most things ‘80s, Swatch feels right at home again in 2009. During Fashion Week in September, we followed tweets and word of mouth to get our hands on a limited edition splatter paint watch (and finally succeeded outside of the Lewis presentation).
