This New Years Eve I attended a “Mad Men” themed party thrown by a notoriously wumpy friend of mine known for having a ludicrously hefty rolodex of the hipster elite. The invitation mandated all attendees to dress in the same vein of the AMC television series and don 1960s clothing. The full collection of images for Madonna's Louis Vuitton ad campaign are out, and there's just one thing to say: INAPPROPRIATE. The woman is well into her 50s for godsake! I don't know about you, but if that were my mother posing open-legged and slung awkwardly over a chair, I'd be in need of some serious talk therapy. I do have to admit, though, there are a couple of stunners. The take pictured above, shot by Steven Meisel, is my favorite--in it, the Material Girl looks young and beautiful and darkly mysterious. Thoughts?...

Seems there's just no stopping Claudia Schiffer, no matter how much time goes by since the supermodel's heyday. According to the Daily Mail, the blonde amazon is launching her very own line of beauty products, set to launch this summer. Following in the footsteps of fellow ex-models like Elle MacPherson, Josie Maran, and Iman (who have all moved on to begin extremely successful beauty companies), Schiffer is planning to sell the line alongside her already-existing jewelry line. Personally, I happen to be a huge fan of Josie Maran's products, so here's to hoping that Schiffer's concoctions will...

Happy new year, dear readers! StyleCaster is back in action after a lonnnnngggg holiday filled with food, family, friends, gifts, food, and more food. Sometimes time flies (when you’re having fun), and sometimes it stands still (when you’re waiting for the subway on your way home from work).
